Welcome to Freedom Physiotherapy, conveniently located in downtown Fort St. John. Here, our professionals know that health is about the individual. We believe in partnering with every person who walks in the door: rehab is a team effort where we give you the tools to succeed. We want to see you back doing the things you love with a plan to continue on the road to healthy, happy living. Our mission is to help accomplish these goals in a painless, compassionate, and efficient way.

We know that rehab continues well past the acute phase, so our facility is designed to accommodate both short and long term goals. By combining evidence informed practice with a fully equipped facility, we strive to provide the best value possible. 




Bryce Kelly, DPT 

Born and raised in Fort St. John, Bryce received his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree in 2007 from the University of North Dakota. He has been practicing in Fort St. John, in both public and private practice since 2008. Prior to studying physiotherapy, Bryce's undergraduate studies culminated in a BSc (Hons) in Physiology and Developmental Biology.

Bryce believes everybody deserves the freedom to move and freedom to perform as they wish. For these reasons, Freedom Physiotherapy was named and furnished with the equipment necessary to meet the goals of all patients.



Norah Vogan, M.Sc., CSEP-CEP

Norah was born and raised in Grande Prairie, AB, all the while swimming for the Grande Prairie Piranha Swim Team. She swam competitively and earned a scholarship to the University of Nevada, Las Vegas where she received a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. After returning to Canada, Norah completed a Masters of Science in Clinical Exercise Physiology at the University of Alberta.

Upon graduation, Norah began her career at the Fort St. John Hospital as the Exercise Specialist. She has been successfully running the Chronic Disease Management Program for 5 wonderful years.

Beyond career, Norah is a wife to a wonderful husband and a mother to two beautiful little girls. She is passionate about maintaining a healthy and active lifestyle and helping others achieve the same.


Melinda Lau, MSc PT

Melinda earned her Master's degree in Physical Therapy at Queen Margaret University, Scotland in 2012. Prior to that she completed a Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology at the University of Waterloo.  She has experience in sports injuries working closely with many young athletes including hockey, gymnastics, and dance.

Melinda has taken additional post-graduate education courses in Neurokinetic Therapy and Mulligan Concept. She is a certified Level 3 pelvic health physiotherapist, capable of internal exams and treatment.

Melinda is passionate about helping her clients reach optimal function and obtaining their goals. She strongly believes in having her clients play an active role in their rehabilitation through education, and individualized therapeutic exercises.

Hannah Orfald-Clarke

Hannah Orfald-Clarke earned her Bachelor's degree in Nutrition Sciences at the University of Ottawa in June 2018. She is qualified as a Registered Dietitian with the College of Dietitians of BC. She has experience in supporting the management of a wide variety of chronic diseases through nutrition and lifestyle changes, including but not limited to diabetes, digestive disorders and cardiovascular disease. She has experience in counselling for clients with varying health concerns including but not limited to weight management, sports nutrition, prenatal nutrition, malnutrition, and pediatric nutrition. 

Hannah is committed to professional development and to providing evidence-based and current information for clients. She has found a passion for nutrition counselling and for adjusting goals of care to suit the unique needs and barriers that each individual faces. She believes that by helping clients set reasonable and attainable goals, they can achieve and maintain their objectives. 

Mike van Nostrand, BHK

Born and raised in Fort St. John, Mike received his Bachelor of Human Kinetics degree in 2015 from the University of British Columbia Okanagan. Growing up, Mike was heavily involved in the local hockey and fastball community, which greatly influenced his passion for human movement.


As a Kinesiologist, Mike loves to work with people through strength and conditioning, active rehabilitation, exercise therapy, and functional movement.


Anton Ponomarenko

Anton is a physiotherapist with the Master’s degree from the University of British Columbia and his Bachelor’s degree in Community Rehab and Disability Studies from the University of Calgary. Prior to this, he worked as a physiotherapist assistant for ten years in Fort St. John. During his time, Anton facilitated the Party Program, a community-based initiative for youth that focuses on educating teens about the risks and realities of drinking and driving. Anton also facilitated the musculoskeletal injury prevention program for the hospital staff, and he ran the outpatient hip and knee replacement exercise program. Anton particularly enjoyed his community rehab outreach work, where he used his bicycle to meet almost all his clients at their home. Anton, often referred to in the community as “the exercise guy,” loves sharing his joy and excitement around the importance of movement and physical wellness.

Outside of being a physiotherapy student Anton enjoys photography, snowboarding, community theatre, rock climbing, traveling and spending time with his family, exploring new and exciting outdoor adventures.
